"Tuinkers bakfiets" - the "cress bike"

This coming sunday, we have the "Cultural Sunday" here in town and the theme is "City oasis".
I was asked to take part and created the "Cress bike" for that day, a bike with all the supplies to enable people to make their own pot with cress seeds. You can then take it home and let it grow.
It's sooooo simple and easy to make your own vitamines and you can use it for all different sorts of food: in salads, on bread, with joghurt...

Sunday rolls

If you have time on a sunday morning, try and prepare these delicious rolls for breakfast.
You even have time to go back to bed in the time the dough needs to rise.

Ingredients:
500g flour
350ml lukewarm water
1 pack of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of salt

Mix the salt with flour and the yeast in a large bowl. Then add the water bit by bit and mix the dough with the dough hooks of your mixer. Keep mixing until you get a smooth dough. Keep mixing for a bit longer.
Make a round dough ball and put a clean tea towel on top of the bowl.
Leave on a warm place for 1 hour to rest. The dough will roughly double it's size.
After 1 hour, knead the dough again and form 8 little rolls from it. Put them on a baking tray with baking paper on it. Cut the rolls slightly with a sharp knife, but just on the top. Cover the tray with the tea towel again and leave on a warm place for about 30 minutes. The rolls will rise again.
In the meantime, preheat the oven (with circulating air) on 220 degrees. Bake the rolls for ca. 20-25 minutes.
They are ready when you take a roll and "knock" on the bottom and it sounds hollow.

Lime jelly

I was just too curious what it would tast like. So when I saw these bags full of limes at the market recently, I just had to take them home :)
After squeezing out the juice for ages, I ended up with about 750ml juice. I cooked it together with the preserving sugar and voilá: lime jelly.

The taste is incredible, the combination of the sourness of the lime, together with the sweetness of the sugar is just great.

Recipe:
- 750ml of lime juice (sifted)
- 500g 1:2 preserving sugar

Let it boil for about 1-2 minutes and fill into glasses. It's enough jelly for 4 glasses of 235ml.
